I asked Brat for a word for this new blog, he said ‘Ugh.’ This word is an interjection used to express horror, disgust or repugnance. I had my share of the ugly guys and I am talking about past dating experiences. My encounters with guys have for the most part have been of the ugly variety. They were either too much of one extreme quality or didn’t have that single, never been married with no children attribute that I hope to find in a nice guy.
The ones I’m talking about are not that physically attractive to look at and I was asked, “Why do you date these ugly guys?” I guess I pitied them and they seemed friendly enough because none seemed to want them anyway. I was too naive back then and I wanted to have fun.
Back in 1990, I met a man born Vietnamese/Bolivian out of wartime. ‘Crisp Horrendous’ was very dark, tall and had the ugliest pug face with a lazy left eyeball that popped prominently out of his skull. I know he still watches my house today because he unexpectedly visited in October 2000 and on 09-11-2004, when he inquired if I was still single and mentioned that I should be in politics because of my serious attitude. He knew how to survive outdoors and his knowledge would have been fun. He didn’t want to get married then.
Back in 07-06-2000 via Yahoo! Messenger, I met a finder born of Samoan/German. ‘Laundry Like’ has a great smile with a horrible, buck teeth overbite but was quite honest more than I needed to know. He couldn’t stop flapping his motor mouth because he was born that way. Back in 09-17-2001, he unexpectedly visited my house. We practiced our karate outside my backyard. “Bow to your kata.” He told me since I forgot what I learned in PE class to earn credit as an undergraduate at a college near my current work. He is best at Kung Fu styles. He wasn’t ready to get married either.
Back in 02-2003, this one was dark, shorter and a smoker. ‘Nazal Septum’ seemed nice and was able to get my foot into the door to work. So for a couple of weeks prior to my hire date, we would chat online and my solar plexus sounded a total red flag warning with stomach aches. My hands and feet were ice cold. I knew something was wrong but didn’t heed my inner guidance. I later learned he was married with children. I was disappointed because of all the guys I met there was some mysterious but familiar connection to him as if from some past life. He was Pakistani by descent and my heart broke. He moved on after I saw him 05-23-2003.
Along the way I didn’t feel the urge to meet anymore guys. I could talk to them but I needed to figure out why I attracted the kinds that want to have fun and most tease me like some kid. I don’t look my age up front in real life.
I remember ‘Jerk Kielbasa’ the Polish health nut and sport fan, ‘Beer Boozeman’ the German alcoholic that fell off the scaffolding at work, ‘Martian Gondola’ Mexican health worker that had the cutest brown-eyed boy, ‘Pepper Clob’ the Hungarian holistic practitioner and others that have been in my memory for a short while.
I miss them all and if I could combine their personality traits into one ball that would neat but rare. The result to these characters has either stopped talking or never showed up like ‘Make Her Forget-Thee” who likes to lay out his clothes in the morning. I did not leave any of these relationships in an angry manner. These faded away in time and from memory. Well, some good memories will always stay.
I wonder why my list has not included an Asian. Maybe those good looking nerds are still living with their bio-units like Brat and me. I’ve been told that we only understand our own culture and have yet to find out if this indeed is true to my point of views.
I think that the ugliest part in any relationship is that we are allow the green-eyed monsters to come out and play with our emotions, possess our thought processes and lower our expectations that another nice person doesn’t always reflect oneself in the eyes of the beholder. There is no perfect mate for eternity and many people come out of relationships kicking and screaming due to lengthy divorce settlements and treacherous love affairs.
I wonder why people bother getting involved in a 24/7 relationship. Isn’t hard enough getting out of bed and dealing with the chores of daily bathroom habits, let alone the likes of any significant others with more differences that what I see in the mirror every morning?
Establishing long-term relationships is not important for me in this lifetime; since I believe that there are many more romances out there that will fulfill my every desire.
My astrological reports indicate no planet in my seventh house, House of Marriage. I do not know what that means but this shows I managed to avoid the trilateral agreements that is part of any marriage licenses.
I should enjoy life more as a single person and learn too look past the ugliness and see only the beauty that the world has to offer. One day I would encounter a gorgeous guy who could stop me in my tracks, cause me to drool and melt my heart into butter. I happen to love butter on my popcorn by the way. Care to join me for a romantic movie?
