20250103-0145. Welp, I’ve tweaked what was supposed to have been the Front Page template but (for whatever reason) the site-editor.php kept pointing to my Front-page, which I set as my default Homepage instead of displaying my Latest posts.
Lo and behold! I’ve discovered a bunch of nifty Patterns in between the Block to the left and the Media to the right. So outta curiosity, I sampled some of the “Intro” patterns and chose one that made sense!
The Intro pattern was VERY simple and included one header, one paragraph and one button. This complimented my usually STATIC front page and made it more presentable because I noticed that my Front-page was full of clutter.
So I removed the Tag cloud widgets, which were messed up after I’ve uploaded 31,103 individual King James Bible verses from my OLD project (spreadsheets and cvs files) two years ago! So now the right side bar is shorter and cleaner with at least two of my favorite widgets: Archives and Calendar.
I’ve kept the other external links, which mimicked Twatter’s right sidebar appearance and I added back a randomizer plugin to display one KJ bible verse.
All I wanted from this KJV bible project was to display one random verse. But the only available feature was the WP ?random, which NO longer seemed to work for Pages!
The WP ?random works, however, for Posts, which was why I had to upload back those bible verses. Also, I’m removing the Uncategorized “category”, should I ever want to use the randomizer plugin and/or the WP ?random feature.
Yeah, so the PATTERNS help the user create a cleaner page instead of how I used to borrow/steal ideas from other online sites or making up my own carelessly.
That’s all. End 0208 PST.
Hello Flynn, nice, and good luck!
