I don’t know what is so popular about an undergraduate studying “social science”. Are they naturally sociable and make co-mingling with people a “science”? Perhaps, these sorts like to “study” human behavior and how they respond to various “stimuli”.
For example, as one of my lower division prerequisite class for a major, which didn’t work out because I was too stupid, I took “social studies”. I was fresh out of high school and didn’t know WTF I wanted to do with my sorry life. I thought I could breeze through the courses, graduate in time, get married with children right afterwards and work full-time to pay into a mortgage scheme. Well, it didn’t work out.
But my mind was working out full-time and not really concentration on studying. You see, I get distracted easily. And in that particular class was a VERY handsome guy, who was, I believe 21 years old. OMG! He was tall, too. He would wear leather jackets and had a VERY black hair style that was reminisce of “James Dean”. Jerry was his name and he lived with his mother off Tenth Street, I believe.
One day, while I was waiting to catch a shuttle bus off that area, I saw him ride his bicycle. But because my mind was wandering (and focused straight ahead in deep thoughts of day-dreaming), I didn’t see him slow down enough for me to catch a glimpse of his looking STRAIGHT at me.
If I only knew how to play my cards right and studied hard and knew where I was going in life, I wanted to marry him. My voice got caught in my throat. But it was too late to say, “Hi” to him. The Mexicano rode off to the university and out of my dreams forever.
