Yesterday, the three of us went to the DeCA in Moffett Field, CA and bought lots of groceries. We were going to shop this morning after Maw’s doctor’s appointment.
I noticed new banners were up and how the top portion of the hanger was being repaired. In my old blogs, I expressed how I didn’t like preserving a piece of history, even when the government cannot afford to fund an expensive project.
But Maw (in her usual insight) said: “The hanger is good as a shelter in case of disasters.” So that’s where it stands, a bulky landmark near 144-FEMA.
The attached photo shows Hangar One and scaffoldings atop its doors. There are trees below and the sunshine is above. The old water tower painted red and white is to the right.

Addendum — Last edited by FLYNN on 20110727 at 16:50:04 PM UTC : We forgot about eating breakfast at the “Barcelona Cafe”. It is suppose to be open from six or seven in the morning to about one or two in the afternoon only. One day and if we remember, we will try and eat there prior to shopping for food and such.
