National Poetry Writing Month is nearly at at end. To celebrate it, try your hand at some verse.

just saying…

being part of the inner circle,
the creme of the crop,
isnt’ all that cut and dry

you see, it’s all about
trust and faith,
and being blind in one eye,

after turning a cheek
to protect the right eye
of justice, it’s all fair

when the last will
has lost all power
while the big brothers

play a game of chess
to see who will be the
next fall guy or gal

cheaters never seem
to be caught when
the rules are always

changed to their favor
at least for now
when no one is looking

P.S. I just rambled without considering form, tempo, flow of poem. Took five minutes to create.
