SMS 0349. Yay I hate my job
0740. I understand. I usually wake up at 0530, in order to sync with the client’s start time at 0700. Is good discipline.
0741. Please just stay put for two months, be honest with the recruiter, whoever, and look for a new job. Remember you have bills to pay.
0742. The commute is bad enough where I take almost 2 hrs to drive home
0743. So this may be a 2-3 week contract
0744. Who hoo! That’s what I love about contact job. You get to agree to the terms before you sign away.
*contract jobs. Two hours drive is NOT worth it per Mom.
0745. But hey it’s money! And you need to plug that work experience into your resume.
0746. That is my dilemma I am not learning anything here. Just doing stupid inventory and no real IT work
0747. The girl from the previous temp job from hell travels from Santa Cruz. Others from Stockton, etc.
0749. That’s what I noticed with my contract jobs – it’s more relaxing and you get the opportunity to cross-train yourself on new things online.
0751. It’s very tough. The jobs that we used to know and love is already taken until they leave those positions. My jobs are never the same. We’re lucky if we’re paid 30 bucks per hour. We’re the same you and me – we need to have it our way.
0753. With [temp job here], I learned more excel features, the vital tools of accountants while being bored! Yes. We have to start from the bottom. Like USPS, janitor jobs is the best way to work up to better positions.
0754. So in essence, temp jobs are like custodian jobs.
0755. I’m learning more accounting, such as payroll which is way outta my league, but within my favorite data entry skills.
0756. But most importantly do as instructed. Don’t deviate. And make paper noises, anything, to show some shred of interest.
0758. It’s up to you. It’s not good for your emotions of you are NOT happy. Your lack of enthusiasm cannot be hidden. That’s why my recent temp job wasn’t a good fit. That’s why the other temp job invited me back. I was happy there.
0802. Yes, I forced myself to be happy initially and Deb didn’t care. I told her how hard job finding is. But I demonstrated that I can do the job, which I did, despite my bad attitude.
0842. 6-8 weeks contract. If I leave early…no unemployment?
0844. I don’t think so because if you quit you get nothing, until you get terminated, then you’re entitled per Mom, who said you just have to sacrifice.
0845. I’ll just finish contract and if they offer l’ll decline
0846. It’s not a “traditional” IT like I’m used to. Friggin’ India is doing the first level support of which I was doing at WD. I’m not doing level 1 or 2 support now! Just stupid inventory
0846. That’s why I’ve NOT been claiming UI, due to the temp jobs don’t pay high and it doesn’t help me get a job or look good from the same recruiter. The UI is awarded based on previous wage.
0849. I can only do so because I’m living with our parents. But you need money. I would not take the job if offered for full-time. But if they will give you more responsibilities after you signed the commitment, then the decision is yours
0850. The commute isn’t worth it. Imagine driving only 8 mph for 20 miles
0850. We suffered because of ‘diversity’ and as a result we are forced to look for jobs away from home base. I agree.
0851. You have to sacrifice. You have to put up. It’s part of life per Dad.
0853. I guess you didn’t have to accept the job, knowing what was being offered. Sometimes the client asks if commuting would be a problem.
0854. They did but I didn’t realize how terrible the commute is. 20 miles is not too far. Takes me exactly 30 min to get to work. Coming home is 1.5 hrs
0855. Well, it’s better than staying home and being poor, living paycheck to paycheck. Sorry.
0859. That’s a good commute actually! My average commute time is around 25 minutes and that was from Santa Clara.
0900. It’s always like that. After clocking in many hours as designated driver to our parents, I got used to the slowness of traffic.
0901. Plus, I don’t wanna get into anymore accidents. Is scary enough without a real job.
0902. It’s scary too without good health insurance.
