The winds are blowing hard because the tree tops are bending. The afternoon sunshine is filtering through my windows upstairs. For the most part, the skies were filled with fluffy, puffy clouds of white — overhead then and on the horizon now and as of yesterday.
From 11:30am to 3:15pm, the three of us visited two outstanding parishioners. One happens to be a dedicated “apostle” to our local parish. Maw and Ben had lots to say with “Minh” participating. Paw and I were quite most of the time.
At 3:00pm, I was delighted to see lots of small black bumblebees with yellow powder attached too their legs! They were buzzing around the California golden, dark orange, poppies, which grew wild on their front yard. Two are in front of their brick pathway leading directly to their front door.
Maw is a mean person. She wanted them killed. Ben said: “They are God’s creatures. You cannot kill living things”.
Later we ate at Goldilocks. It was a lot of food in small white bowls: bitter melon, mixed vegetable stew, goat meat, fried gizzards and stewed squid. Filipino foods are greasy and unhealthy. Most dishes are stewed and made with meat, by the way. But it is so good when hungry!
