At home, I cannot say “no” to Maw. If Maw isn’t happy, no one is happy. Just do as you’re told (for your own good) and everything will flow smoothly. That’s what I learned when the boy moved out.
Before that and while growing up, neither the boy nor I was being cooperative and nothing got done. The parental units did the best they could by example as teachers by not complaining.
But now that everyone is getting old, there is no reason to refuse being available for each other in times of need — to drop everything and pick-up later on. There is no need to resist and be a rebel against those whose love and support have always been in the background.
At work, it’s the same principal: Learn to cooperate to get things done. People at work could be treated like family. One cannot say “no” to the boss. But if there is something that doesn’t make sense or something is wrong, then out of fairness that needs to be addressed.
Only the stupid FOREIGNERS with thick accents raise their voices at the dummies in order to cover their asses and to keep their jobs while blaming the process on new and stupid workers (temporary or full-time). These types don’t know respect of culture. While working, we are working as Americans!
At play, everyone has to follow the rules. Without rules, there is chaos and the barbarians (or outlaws) will just ruin the fun for all. One cannot say “no” to rules or else get kicked out of the team.
