The rains are falling slowly as the City of San Jose is pruning street trees in preparation for the regularly scheduled resurfacing of pavements. Only the limbs facing the trees, along the streets of course, are trimmed. The ones over the sidewalk are left untouched.
People can inform the city not to cut the trees if there are nesting birds. People are empowered to protect their young, too.
