After breakfast, I’ve been recording my playing piano on my Kimball via the digital camera the whole morning and had trouble finding a tall enough prop for the camera, which sat on an upside down remote control caddy, on top of Maw’s column-shaped, plant holder and with a yellow rubber glove to keep this ‘expensive’ electronic device from slipping to the wooden floor.
I couldn’t figure out how to modify the play time and kept using the stupid Windows Movie Maker unsuccessfully because YouTube.com didn’t recognize this .mswmm format. I tried ‘reinstalling’ the program that will allow me to edit the movies taken from my digital camera. And that worked for awhile until I couldn’t make the text of the lyrics appear at the right time for each measure.
As a result and out of frustration, I included the lyrics in the description field in YouTube.com below for the following Mexican folk song: Mi Hamaca (My Hammock).
Here are the lyrics:
Yo tengo
mi hamaca tendida,
Junto
a la orilla del mar.
Y mi
cabana escondida
en medio
de uncafetal.[Refrain]
Sombra me da el bosque,
Brisa me da el mar,
Besos mi morena,
Que bel llo es amar.Como golondrina,
Que volado va.
Cual mece mi hamaca tendida
de aqui para alla
de alla para aca!
English translation:
I hung my hammock near the sea,
My cabana is hidden by the trees on shore.
I am kissed by my love,
With kisses like swallows in flight,
And my hammock swings gently to and fro.
This next Mexican folk song is called: El Cefrio (The Breeze) and this one had the lyrics scrolling upwards from the bottom center of the video are included below, too.
Here are the lyrics:
Blancos jamines
catos de aves,
Rumor de besos,
lle vale tu.
Mas no le digas
lo que ya sabes,
La noche es negra,
la noche es negra
la tarde azul.
English translation:
Soft breeze at twilight,
Gathering the fragrance of flowers,
Take the perfume to my loved one,
But do not tell her I grieve.
Now this video is a popular one of two from the same era that I managed to record, edit and upload. But this one had three long verses that I didn’t bother posting it on YouTube. It’s called: I Will Wait For You.
I’m waiting until my bio-units are finished watching television nearby without distracting another recording that mysteriously didn’t make the cut for today. Recording and editing videos take a long time and it’s a pain in the butt, literally because I’ve been sitting at this computer the whole day.
The day is cloudy gray with off and on rain (just like yesterday but not two days ago which was slightly sunny). It’s been freezing these past few days and I hardly venture outdoors to avoid catching cold.
There are lots to learn in front of the computer. I really should start looking for work but that’s another pending plan.
