When I get mad, mental imageries of praying calms me down. Then if that does not work, I use my imaginary samurai (or long sword) to cut of their heads, thusly silencing the noise. Sometimes, I find myself taking time-outs away from the situation and even take a nap. I used to scream and fight back when I was younger. But my expressions of temper tantrums have been internalized to avoid instigating further madness.
