The elevator pitch:
Write a short story or piece of descriptive faux-journalism describing your personal idea of a dystopia — a dark future when everything you hold dear is on the chopping block.
The “that wasn’t enough to get my motor running” version:
You’re hit by a car tomorrow and, just like in the movies, they put you on ice and wait for medical science to make it possible to revive you at some point in the future. And revive you they do, some 20, 50, or 100 years later (any later than that is just cheating). Lo and behold you’ve woken up into your personal nightmare vision of the future. Tell us what it looks like.
Headlines: End Of World? by Evil Kitty
In this segment we will explore how things might have changed since I was hit by that car.
Fast forward to 2022.
Relationships between man and woman no longer exists. Only the love between mankind and robots has replaced what was once love. The choice of partners are made the breeders for the perfect babies of the future.
The Privilege have full control of their choices in life. They get the best of everything while the rest of society have no opportunities and their daily lives are constantly monitored 24/7. Security cameras are installed for each rooms.
The Mind controlled people come pre-programmed to accept anything their governing body dictates. From the moment of birth, they are implanted with the mandatory RFID chips on their right hands. The more troublesome ones are implanted in their foreheads. Processing time for chipped person has increased exponentially since its inception.
The world of Politics have not changed all that much. The borderlands have wild anarchism while the far-right fascism has the stronghold of the inner city. The majority are opulent liberals who each has a strip of land to control and a population to lead.
Technology has replaced natural laws. As a result, anything goes, including the creation of mutant monsters and test subjects. The dependency on technological advancements has created lazy and unproductive people. Therefore, these people have become severely obese and useless to society. They are processed as food.
The Environment has become polluted since the Fifth World War. As a result the biosphere is dead. Only underground communities have thrived. The elites have the luxury of living on the surface in glass domes. Everything is grown in the lab.
As for the Gender roles, everyone has lost the sexual reproductive ability to procreate and therefore are gender neutral. Each has been assigned a gender role based on genetic traces of testosterone levels. “Females” care and nurture. “Males” lead and defend.
As for food, water and shelter, everything is provided. The sustenance is dispensed on little Petri dishes and indigestible pellets are the only nutrients for each person. There is no mortgage or debt. Finance has been obsolete for many years.
Post-humanity include half-mutated animals and man, plants and man and other hybrid variations. This Post-Human world is full of robots with brains of the last remnants of human habitats that survived the last great war.
