I have a few favorite things. When I was a child, my teddy bear was my favorite toy. It got lost.
When I was a teenager, my favorite song was “Angel of Morning” song version by Juice Newton. I couldn’t understand all the words and played it over and over again unsuccessfully.
When I was a young adult, my favorite alcoholic beverage was VODKA. That’s right! I got drunk quick as a whistle. Unfortunately, I would always get an allergic reaction for the sulfide/sulfite ingredients. I would feel my lips swell up and my throat tighten up. But my liver and system was still young and able to process out the toxin.
Now that I’m middle-aged, my favorite things are not objects of worship but things of wonderment. I wonder what I’ll do tomorrow? I wonder how my parents feel today? I wonder if my parakeets are fed well/correctly? I wonder if society has degraded? I wonder if there is still hope in/on/of this world? I wonder where everyone will be ten years from now?
