“One, singular sensation”
Larger than a mustard seed.
The King of all demons
and his tough outer shell
meant to ward off the minions
against humanity’s souls.
Yet all alone. High and dry
Placed upon a pedestal
of solid rock, a pinnacle
of glory and a foundation
for all other cornerstones
worldwide and within.
Yet still: High and dry
ready for the next wind
to carry his only seed to fertile
soil; for life everlasting.
Instead of the mighty tree
it became just another
cone full of nuts.

Author’s note: Instead of taking my own photo, I’ve decided to try writing poetry based on Matt’s weekly photo challenge: one.
