” As Americans, we believe there’s nothing wrong with making a profit.  But there is something wrong with making that profit by trapping hard-working men and women in a vicious cycle of debt.  ”

I agree. However, with my incoming thought and my past experience, such statement is a double-edge sword. That mechanism was put in place to prevent people from going out of control.

The debt is meant to punish people who can’t afford to borrow. And thus spending is affected.
