Well, I’m trying yet another WordPress.com theme:
Manifest by Jim Barraud
Manifest is a clean and streamlined theme, with great care for typography, that focuses on the content and not the distractions. It comes with support for several post formats, including image, link, and aside, with the option of adding a subtle header image to bring a personal touch to the design. Read more about Manifest →
It’s clean and white. I like the single column, no sidebar template. However, I prefer time/date stamps on each blog entry to show my readers when I “published” my thoughts. Then again, what is time — Pacific? Univeral? Eternal? I guess it doesn’t matter when there is TOO much time on my hands, which end up blogging the whole day. I need, not just the ideal weblog template, but a purpose in life.

For the second time, I’m trying the new WordPress theme Manifest by Jim Barraud. I didn’t realize it until now but the templates for “Archives” and “Links” are much better than the rest! Again, it has a one-column, full-width/no-side bar look with the header and menu on the top; the contents in the middle and the sidebars on the bottom! It can’t get that much cleaner than that!

Hey Flynn, I did not get to see your blog set to the Manifest theme, how did it look, and what are some of the things that you did not like about it?

-
Well, I love the clean appearance but require a time stamp fo each blog entry, which is what you’ll see with the current theme.
-
Oh, yes, a time stamp is important; that is strange that they left that out of that theme.

Maybe if we are lucky the Twenty Twelve Theme will be a combination of Steira, Twenty Eleven, Enterprise, and (Whatever Flynn’s top three are).

-
Ah, yes. A “hybrid” of features from several of the WordPress.com themes would be nice.

Yes, and the Theme could be called Hybrid 2011 or whatever.

Well, I am trying the Manifest theme again because it has two templates for “Archives” and “Links” and one-column with “contents” element above the “sidebar” element below. However the fonts look too small. So I will keep looking for my ideal weblog without using the upgrade for CSS stylesheets.
