In recent news,
Shark fin bill passes state Senate, awaits governor via @sfgate.
“The governor will now decide whether California should ban the sale of shark fin soup, a Chinese delicacy that critics blame for imperiling increasingly rare species.”
“Sen. Leland Yee, D-San Francisco, said the bill would not save a single shark because there is no ban on taking the rest of the body other than the fin.”
“Sen. Bob Huff, R-Diamond Bar (Los Angeles County), represents a district with a large Chinese American population and said the bill was a “cultural affront.””
“The bill, AB376, passed 25-9.”
This is good news. For the sharks were created as “guardians” of the sea.
They are actually helping humans by preventing these mere monkeys from “going off into the deep ends of the seas”. I don’t understand why “land-loving” people need to hunt and eat food meant for sea creatures. Eating sea creatures is NOT Kosher. So why are humans still doing business this way?
Sharks were designed to clean up the oceans by eating their “fair share” of the dead and dying sea life. Now if the Chinese eat only the fin of the shark, they are wasting the rest and thereby polluting the oceans with the dead and dying carcasses of shark. Tradition, like “business as usual” must stop.
There won’t be any longevity either for those who “kill” and/or eat the “dead” forms. Get it?
Honestly, I may be more progressive and liberal but not a registered Democrat. When it comes to the environment and preserving species, I expect businesses to comply with regulations. I expect other countries to respect other “lifeforms”, too.
“Business as usual” has got to stop, especially if money and its money-changers are the source to all evil as greed in the hearts of ALL men and to the depletion of natural resources.
Forget jobs. Forget people. I truly believe people ate dinosaurs and killed off their populations, too. (At 11:23pm, I saw a pin-head sized flash of light over the word “dinosaurs”. So that means I’m onto something important here).
The bill, AB376, passed 25-9.
