Share : Ultra Marathons Might Be Ultra Bad for Your Heart
At 11:06am, I was listening to my almost daily dose of “El Rushbeau” on our local radio station 910 AM NewsTalk. And he was sharing “A new study, published online June 4 in Mayo Clinic Proceedings”:
“A new study, published online June 4 in Mayo Clinic Proceedings, suggests, however, that this “excessive endurance exercise” might actually be putting people at risk for permanent heart damage and…”
“many of these athletes had temporarily elevated levels of substances that promote inflammation and cardiac damage…”
“And over time and with repeated exposure, these compounds can lead to scarring of the heart and its main arteries as well as to enlarged ventricles…”

During a conversation between Maw and the Squirrel Sunday, 06/03/2012, the boy mentioned that his wifey, the Chinese twit, completed the half-marathon because she had the spirits of her long deceased father and elder brother inside her! OMG! Maw was about to rebuke his silly statement. The boy is truly insane and there is nothing we could do about his lost mind if he CHOOSE the cultural superstition of those damn Chinese. If the twit and her friends are reading this, please please please back off or at least submit his to get some professional “HELP”! He is VERY gullible and will be lost forever if you don’t stabilize his emotional state of mind. I am warning you, now!
Anyway, a thought earlier this morning was about how the boy would load up his system with LOTS of carbohydrate a few days prior to the marathon events. And during the event, he would ingest more small packs of vitamin-packed glucose to keep him from crashing. I verbally expressed my concern en route home-bound from this morning’s mass about how we are predisposed to diabetes and how he doesn’t test his blood for any spikes in his glucose level. Alas, the elderly folks could do nothing to stop him, a grown adult, from what he believes is “good/beneficial” for his health. He is really enjoying/feeding his ego and posting his personal accomplishments (which no one else would appreciate but him) on F^ckbook.
Further, he has been complaining of aches and pains during his bicycle hobby, which he has completely stopped after his Chinese “friend” got partial paralysis from a crash due to the hopes of catching up with the group, and during his current hobby, marathon running. And when I asked him how he felt around 14:10pm that day, he said: “I’m sore all over.” Also, he does NOT realize our bone structure cannot take the constant impact — our legs are slightly bowed and the alignment is barely enough for the knee joints and our lower extremities from going out of place.
So for whatever it is worth, the boy has got to stop hurting himself because this activity:
“lead to dangerous irregular heart beats ( ) and possibly sudden cardiac death.”
