Well, Minh is dying. She has been to the emergency/hospital twice for extreme edema from a weak heart and possibly a heart attack/stroke, got one of two stents in the heart and failed to get a pacemaker from Stanford Hospital because she was still swollen from fluids.
Binh took Minh out of the six weeks hospice care paid for by Medicare and refused the hospice worker either from visiting their home. The doorbell has been disabled from visiting parishioners. I had to use my smart/cellphone to phone in our presence.
Binh has not been giving the pills for her weak heart and thick blood. He keeps each pill bottle in a zip-lok/freezer bag and on the highest shelf of the kitchen cabinet. He doesn’t give her water when she is thirsty and doesn’t give her food when she is hungry.
Minh calls Maw frequenty when her tummy hurts sometimes three in the morning. Minh screams out of pain, typical of someone with EXTREMELY thick blood. Minh doesn’t know how to describe her pain.
Minh can’t walk anymore without someone supporting her. Binh has quit serving the “Lord” and dedicated serving his wife, who has been with him for 48 years. He is her crutch now.
Binh blames her for not seeking medical attention early in life. He cried to Maw and Paw while doing the laundry. He complained to them that Minh doesn’t appreciate him/his effort. The reptile is skin and bones. He too is sick.
His love for his wife is to be as natural as possible. Minh told the three/two grand/kids that she was dying. She is dying prematurely out of “love”. But if Medicare investigates, there’s more to this story. We cannot intervene. So be it…
