The longest road trip I've ever taken was long ago. My parents and I wanted to visit our piece of property up in Willits, California. En route back was along Highway 1 — that took five hours! We will never take that road ever again! In my mind, I thought that the road would be straight like Highway 101 but the switchbacks on this road was too much for the transmission of the then white-colored Honda Accord. It had to be serviced the following day.
