“Ahh! Ahh!”
~Sounds from either Maw or the CPAP mask
—
No wonder I cannot sleep early! A few minutes ago I heard a moaning sound from Maw’s bedroom. Since I’m still awake and lurking online, I jumped up from my plastic lawn chair and hurried over to where Maw was sleeping. She was in a VERY deep sleep because she did NOT stir when I promptly lifted the mask temporarily from her face and replace it.
I didn’t see her abdomen going up and down too much and so I proceeded to revive her as per Rachel’s suggestion, which was to squeeze both the BIG toes very hard. But since I didn’t want to cause the sleeping person too much pain or injure her as a result, I slapped the bottom of her feet repeatedly through the blankets.
She barely woke up but I continued to send nerve messages from her feet and directly to her brain via this “reflexology method”. That worked, thank goodness! And she was able to respond through her grogginess. I believe the CPAP machine was having a difficult time pushing air into her very relaxed lungs.
So you see, folks. I’m not being held against my will to move on with my life and be free. It’s my assignment to be where I’m needed most – upstairs to make sure Maw is still breathing. The living arrangement with Maw and Paw is one of security and responsibility to the elderly, of course.
