Metal-On-Metal Hip Implants – Few Reasons To Carry On Using Them, FDA Panel Says
Long ago, the Squirrel something from a professional who said that metal is not good for the body. This includes metal jewelry pieces and dental work, too. Basically, hip replacement/implants are foreign body materials. I’ve seen televised surgery that: removed GOOD portions of bone, cemented the bone marrows and HAMMERED the devices inv place. One instance was an elderly patient who dislocated a hip, had to go to the emergency room where he was sedated. Then assistants MANIPULATED the leg in odd angles just to pop the sucker back into place. So if there is a “cure” for bad hips, I can’t wait for the day/dimension when that technology would become a reality.
