We awoke early at 5:30am. I wasn’t fully awake. And in a few minutes, Paw went upstairs and invited me to eat breakfast with him while Maw got ready for her surgery, a decompression repair for a torn rotor cuff of the right shoulder.
We attended morning mass and usual and left early immediately after taking the Eucharist; got gasoline; went home to poop and then proceeded to the hospital, where we found parking at the basement and nearest to the elevator leading to the “Surgery Center”.
From 9:38am to 2:30pm, we signed in, waited in the lobby and then inside the recovery room and then left. For the next 24 hours, Maw slept with her sling around her arm and pain killers. Rice porridge helped to keep food down and the pills, too.
Today she is up and around and helped cleaned, too. Her strength and leadership qualities have returned. I stayed up until four in the morning and took a nap for two hours until noontime today, just to make things flow smoothly.
