I’ve completed all but the last suggestions:
- Update your About Page. Done. Actually, visitors to my site can read more sub-pages of short bio. The “About” page is really about the weblog site. The “Flynn” page is in reference to a third person — the blogger herself. Both pages are short and humorous and doesn’t tell the visitors much or convince them to come back.
- Turn on Publicize. Done but only for Twitter. Y’all got to be insane to reveal your true identity by linking your WordPress.com weblog site with the CIA-sponsored site, such as Facebook. Sheesh!
- Turn on Sharing. Done. I enabled only “Email”, “Press This”, “Print” and “AddThis”
- Let readers subscribe by email. Done. And “Subscription widget” is currently located at the first and topmost widget in my sidebar.
- Post regularly. Done. I post about my life almost everyday and participate in Plinky.com and DailyPost.wordpress.com.
- Write Well. Done. I write well enough but the content doesn’t always flow.
- Pick good titles. Done. I used to tag my “post titles” with my personalized “date/time stamp” followed by two words in order to avoid duplicating the post entries.
- Link to bloggers like you. Done. I don’t know ho to use a “pingback” and really don’t have the time to check out “Freshly Pressed” or the “Global Tags”, which I reviewed and added the more popular tags to each post as “categories” with the less popular ones as “tags”.
- Comment on other blogs like yours. Done. I really don’t care to comment and tried with two other users of the WordPress platform (free and paid). The only other comments I made are done because I’ve nothing else to do and the registered user has recently been flooding my “Feedbacks” and “Comments” as spam. So WordPress.com knows something about this “fellow blogger” but is not letting me know.
- Respond to every comment you get. Done. I try to respond to each comment made. If I don’t like the fugly gravatar or don’t know if the comment is made by real person or more bots, then I don’t “Reply” directly to the comment. Rather, I open up a separate comment to avoid sharing my email address and ISP address. Smart, huh?
- Take requests. Done. Recently, only one blogger cared to answer my “self-inquiry” and posting a question to the public shows how unlikely my blog request would get responses.
- Pay for traffic. No way! Why would I pay for something I do for fun and entertainment? If there are any real truth in my blog, then by all means act upon it to solve the world’s problem. Otherwise, be gone!
