In the Philippines, there is no mothers day, except flowers to the Virgin Mary. There is no fathers day or children’s day either.
Only in America and business as usual of flowers, cards and food. And depending on the mood, hugs and kisses.
I’ve been told that Americans celebrate such occasions due to living far away geographically and far apart emotionally. This would apply to other popular holidays, such as New Years, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Today went well. The five of of attended morning mass and ate lunch at home. At around 2:15 pm, the two-some left and the three of us went shopping at the Payers Nursery for more bitter melon plants to grow out back. Instead, Maw got one red cactus plant and three vegetables for planting tomorrow.
