`Fely. Why am I still alive? I miss my husband, Mac!`
~Old granny Luz long ago to Maw
Although the funeral of my last of four `grandparent` has been over earlier this morning, we are supposed to `mourn`. And that means to stay put for awhile because the spirit is still around for forty days.
Tomorrow is supposed to be a Chinese wedding for Andy and Betty. And because Maw might have caught a cold from the cold air in the chapel these past two days and since the boy mentioned tonight that tomorrow’s evening air would still linger around 100 degrees, we decided not to attend the reception, which Paw so eagerly wanted. Poor Paw!
Instead we handed Andy’s check gift to the boy, who didn’t come to visit us. We know that he is good with words but his mind was elsewhere — on his iPhone mostly — and due to his distracted head movement and averted eye contact — both of which meant he wanted nothing to do with us and wanted to go home right away.
I noticed this with the Shillster, too – all jerky and fidgety, talking about nonsense and criticisms of whispers into the ear holes of Ruchille and her mother, who owes the Chingster for a long free ride at the old house.
I think the boy and the Shillster are living their old incarnated self manifested as restlessness, something from the past that wasn’t reconciled and brought into this current life time without peace.
Plus, it might have been bad luck for the newly weds to catch our cooties from the deceased. Which is why Maw and I showered immediately after the three day event. The boy and his wife did the same. But Paw probably wants the cooties to stick to him longer. He is taking a shower now when he should have done that RIGHT after coming home prior to 2:00pm.
Whatever the case, there were a bunch of nutters who cried with crocodile tears. I’ve blogged about what I’ve heard and personally witnessed from Malouse and Maldeath. They got sick and tired of taking care of the old lady. No one cared for the old lady much, wanting their freedom, claiming her house was too small, and accusing a helpless old woman without dementia and one who is quite fastidiously clean.
