For Ford Mustangs, fuel pumps die out slowly. The symptoms experienced would be:
- Hard to start (ignition) while cold and/or warm to hot.
- Stalls while backing out/going reverse.
- Makes gurgling noises under hood while idle.
- Feels shakey while idle.
- Smells like leaking fuel. (I love the smell, though. Getting high!)

Anyway, the last symptom is a clue. Get your car repaired at a Ford specialist, pronto. Stopping on the middle of the road means no power to the power steering and power brakes. That happened to the boy on Halloween night. It was scary!
So at around 12:45pm today, the boy was kind enough to carpool me back to the auto repair up in Milpitas, CA. Duc D. couldn’t find anything wrong. And that’s fine. Clearly only when the car doesn’t work, he will work on the car. He did a good job replacing my crack gooseneck gasket for the fuel, where the gasoline goes in.
Since mine still worked and before it’s too late, I’ll bring it to a hard-core Ford repair shop up in Santa Clara, CA next Monday. The guy knew the boy so well that he didn’t take down my name or number but simple referred to me as “Roger’s sister”. How cool is that? God bless you all and God bless the boy, too!
