Tonight, Maw and I watched about one hour each of two televised shows on SyFy.com.
The last half hour was a show about “The Golden Compass” in which a girl frees a bunch of experimental children with the aide of a polar bear, flying women, a cowboy in a futuristic air balloon and another bunch of other guys with wolves.
We then tried to watch another hour of ” The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian” which featured four friggin’, thick-accented British “young adults” being summoned back into time to fight with swords. Their sidekicks are dwarfs, Minotaurs, Centaurs, and other talking anamorphic animals such as a badger, a mouse, a squirrel, etc.
The shows are mostly in the depressing colors of grays, blacks, whites and browns. The latter was a Walt Disney production. What I don’t like with most shows is a happy ending after a quest to battle ONE evil force with MANY good allies. Are these shows telling us that uniting for the “common good” is the only way to defeat a single enemy?
With all the wars being manufactured and presented to the public for what appears to be for entertainment purposes, considering how other worlds, alternate realities and multiple dimensions are possible, why fight at all? Why give up a life for another life? Why kill for life? Something doesn’t make sense. And I’m still trying to figure out why people are being fooled to foot the bill of various scenarios in current situations.
