20250122-0905. Since last night, nay, since late in the early morning, I discovered two ways of creating my own modified “drop-down” menu for the top navigation bar of the Header!
A few minutes ago, I added three blocks/widgets called Details, which is to “hide and show contents”. Unfortunately, I would have to add Paragraph blocks for each “Link” and then edit the URL set Advanced to “Open in new tab”. The blocks are for both my external and internal links.
These “drop-down” menu items are called: Blogroll (external links that I am following), Projects (internal links to my static pages with my favorite Nextpage code and Table of Contents block) and Social Media (external links for my social media platforms/sites).
Last night, however, I combined/grouped the Details block/widget with the Header or Paragraph block above and the Navigation block below: all three of which I combined/grouped but set as a “Row”.
So the “Write summary” portion is the “Title” of the modified drop-down menu that we used as a “Button” to reveal/show the contents. Only this Details block/widget uses an “arrow” pointed towards the right to hide contents when NOT selected but pointed down to show contents when selected.
It’s a convoluted way of just having the Happiness Engineers give us users a simple drop-down menu that combines the concept Buttons or Links with Navigation menus.
That’s all. End of ranting 0918 PST.
