I had a thought about “debt”. It sounds eerily similar to “death”. After we talked with Ben and Minh after the Saturday evening mass, two weeks ago, we bade them goodbye. As we made our way to the front parking lot and down the alley way between the parish and school, I said aloud: “Till “debt/death” do us part”. It was a joke in reference to the failures of the boy and his wifey. Being in/debt/ed is being in death until repayment is made in kind.
Further, my thought wondered what would happen to the dollars or any form of currency. Would TPTB and pals create one global currency by giving credit to those who already have their money accounted for in any “financial institution”? How about those who hoard/hide their money in mattresses and don’t have a “bank”, for example? Will these “cash only” people and other criminals be forced to open up accounts and deposit their cash a mandatory requirement to receive the value equal to the new Amero or whatever system used to track commerce?
