What was your favorite plaything as a child? Do you see any connection between your life now, and your favorite childhood toy?
Photographers, artists, poets: show us MEMENTO.

I remember playing “house” with my dolls, which I donated to a local religious charity downtown San Jose, CA. One doll was as tall as me when I was one year old. Another one was half one-third the size. And there were other dolls of various sizes.
I remember “cooking” food on a play oven with live electricity! I asked Maw to put a cup of rice inside my container and pretended to cook over the unplugged burner. I was wearing one of Maw’s brown/curly wig, which was itchy/hot.
I remember loving my lost teddy bear, which really looked like a tiger. The loss of my beloved toy was so profound that I wouldn’t stop crying until Maw sewed by hand a replacement, which wasn’t the same initially because of it glowing/golden eyes.
Fast forward, I still feel the sense of loss. I find myself taking care, loving, and feeding the ones I love. Only this time instead of dolls, they are my parents and parakeets.
