Write a post about anything you’d like, but be sure to include this sentence somewhere in the final paragraph:
“He tried to hit me with a forklift!”
Photographers, artists, poets: show us a NON SEQUITUR.
On October 1, I visited HealthCare.org, which directed me to CoveredCalifornia.com. I wanted to find out my eligibility. And so for the rest of the afternoon and through the frequent system glitches, I managed to access some of the web pages.
I entered the household information for people that have NOTHING to do with my personal finances/ability to pay. As a result, the website listed health insurances and its coverage benefits.
It suggested that the “Enhanced Silver 70” as being better than the “minimal standard” of the “Bronze 60”, which is 60% covered by the issurer after the insured meets the $5,000 deductible/out-of-pocket and/or 40% responsibility.
I know the results were incorrect because I have no other sources of income (besides my dismal savings of nothingness) and I am under/unemployed. So I tried applying again.
Unfortunately, I received neither email confirmation that my new account was successfully “Created” nor that my eligibility application was successfully “Submitted”.
I only know that my “Application #” was assigned and that my submitted application is “pending approval”. Beyond that, I doubt that I qualify for anything and probably never will get a job.
So ObamaCare, for all I care, is a complete and abject failure to me. Despite the inability to avoid error messages and blank pages, the questions were simple and easy to answer but the explanations of how/what to answer were lacking the appropriate links, such as areas under “household income”.
I expected a smooth experience on the first day of sign-up. I didn’t expect to encounter such difficulties on what was supposed to be “affordable”, which turned out to be a waste of my time and effort – both cost money. It was as if “He tried to hit me with a forklift!” Obama’s hotline 1-800-FUCK-YOU says it all…
