In addition to writing exercises like the prompts here at the Daily Post, brainstorm some challenges that put you outside of your comfort zone. Like to write politically-minded posts? Yup. I have participated with social-political changes from behind the scenes and via this personal blog. How awesome is that? Can’t you tell by now what’s going on? Okay. Never mind.
How about writing from the opposite perspective. Think you don’t have what it takes to be a photo blogger? Try answering one of the Daily Post questions with a picture. Okay. But I still need to put words and/or poetry into my photo blog. I tried uploading ALL my clouds from starting at 2005, but I got tired! So I’ve stopped at around June 2006. I really don’t like how the photos are uploading into WordPress.com, compared to Flickr.com because of the lack of time-date stamps of original images.
What kind of writing exercises have you tried? I’ve tried poetry styles.
Which helped and which were a total flop? The “Comments” and “Feedbacks”, along with “Answers Inspired by Others” all help for me to reflect on my blog posts. The ones that flopped were connecting my thoughts with their reality.
Post some of your ideas in the comments — and your examples! Just read my blog. I don’t want to waste posting space here. Thanks!
