The last time I achieved total silence of the mind was through sheer force of will and determination. The sounds of inner dialogues stopped, of ambient noises ceased, and of rhythmic heartbeats discontinued.
The only sounds experienced were my steady breathing and my TRUE inner voice, which called out to itself: “Hello? Hello? Anybody here?” The silence was achived for no more than a few seconds of peace and serenity until the streams of consciousness came flooding back into my reality.
I was pissed that I couldn’t hold the calm longer so I could experience the echos of emptyness.
