Drought has modified our water usage. With Mutha’s idea of using a wide-rimmed/steel bowl and Dad’s strength to carry buckets of water, my family has taken steps to save water.
For example, I’ve been pre-washing our dirty dishes in that bowl of water with my bare hands. This technique adds “moisturizer” from leftover food fat/oil to my sensitive cuticles and “nutrients” if my system does absorb foodstuff through my skin/hands/whatever.
With the same water, I soap/wash the dishes and rinse with trickles of hot water. Each full bowl is poured into Dad’s carwash bucket. I retrieved Dad’s green-colored/MiracleGrow bucket, which has been used to hold old wooden clothes pins.
Then Dad uses our “soup base” to water the plants, which appear to thrive much better from tasting flavors/seasoning, such as salt, pepper, vinegar, etc… of our leftover meals! Mutha’s tomato plants, which we trimmed of dead branches/leaves, are still bearing fruit/veggies!
Drought is miraculous! We are still turning off our showers/faucets in between rinses but still need to buy two more buckets big enough bucket for our shower session.
We are still watering our lawns and side/street/baby trees, which will offer shade once they grow bigger adult trees. Water your baby trees! But be careful not to drown baby critters.
