At 10:55am, Binky the parakeet flew away. Paw was bringing out one of four vertical electrical fan outdoors for me to clean with an air compressor, when suddenly Binky got spooked and SCOOTED through the opening of the back screen door! My back was to Paw as I faced the shared fence of the neighbor. I saw how she went straight ahead towards that high wooden fence, hanged right along the length and towards Shrimpsei’s CB, up and over the fence and southward to her destiny.
She will be missed.

For the past few days, she has been easily spooked. Her eyes would be wide opened enough so that the black ring around her eye would show up. Maw had discovered the missing bird a couple of hours ago. Paw was cleaning the toilet upstairs when I broke the news to him. *Paw had said: “She was not happy in the cage.”
Even the boy who came for lunch around 12:57pm didn’t notice the busy bird. That goes to show how his mind doesn’t care, so much so that he doesn’t care to tell his wife out sentiments of her “soft tyranny” and plain disregard for our Filipino tradition.
*On 4/9/2011 evening during dinner, Maw had said: “I had a feeling she would fly away. She keeps getting lost upstairs, even if that lace material over the stairways didn’t work.”
Her nose (or cere) is dark brown and raised outward almost too horizontally forwards. She is speckled of light green and mostly yellow. She is a striking resemblance of the late TC (or TechCu), her grandmother. For whatever reason, Bully-Boy kept landing on a wooden frame and bowing to an old photo of two parakeets kissing — Big Budgy and Persimmon (or Percy). I guess Percy (Binky’s grandfather) wanted her to come along to heaven.
