It appears that the parakeets are quite stressed out recently from the passing of Pimon. When Busgy flew away, they didn’t seem all that concerned. It’s because they saw Bugsy fly away. But as for Pimon, they have no idea that he is dead.
Bully-Boy especially showed symptoms of stress. His eyes were wide and full of apprehension. He was tight from flying around – obviously looking for Pimon but to no avail. His head shock quickly – left and right – a parakeet version of remembrance and disbelief – that his feathered friend is nowhere to be seen.
So I had to bring out the well-washed, thoroughly-soaped cage of purple and white color (the same one the Bugsy was brought into via a friend of the boy to our home) for the parakeets to see how empty the contents is without Pimon. Bully flew on top and continued to pace back and forth on top of the bigger cage. He would kiss the cage, bowing his head, to find and question where is Pimon.
I kept motioning upward with my arms and saying: “Bye! Bye!” in the hopes they would understand Pimon would never be coming back. But with Maw’s soft talk and candid explanation that Bully should play with his friends and stop looking for Pimon, Bully seemed to have calmed down a bit.
His eyes softened and he talked normally as if everything is going to get better. Maw said that she watched a show on television about ghostly fishes that would swim and I believe that all life comes and goes in physical and spiritual planes of existence.
“They are animals! There is no need to feed them medicine. Let your dogs die naturally.”
~A story by Theresa to her daughters (the other day during our lunch walk together)…
If only people realize that ANIMALS too have spirits and pray or say blessings upon their passing. This should be done too for those in the business of slaughtering animals for food stuff. Perhaps, Obama and pals could make that a point to everyone.
