So yesterday the boy told Maw that he met Ferdie at Kim-Tar. The girl was with the boy. Tears filled the eyes of Ferdie when the boy told him to visit his auntie, the younger sister of his late father. He said:
“Yeah. We are getting old.”
Then Ferdie offered to pay for their food.
The point is the family of Maw’s older brother are nutballs, who are capable of spewing lies and hatred among their kinfolks. There’s a lot behind the scenes.
- Late mother, H#ly. Illiterate woman known to be nasty in the old town. Desperate to marry a Navy man. Bragged about being rich. Went on vacation from borrowed via my parents. Leached of her in-laws while in town. Gave gifts to her relatives and friends. Failed to drive a mother-in-law (my late maternal grandmother) to the hospital.
- First cousin, Ang!e. Was married to a guy during her teenage years. The guy is still waiting for her. Moved out of the abusive home of her late mother H#ly by marrying Elmer, known to be gay in the old town. Was born out wedlock from an affair between his servant father to a white Irish mother. Fathered Andr#w and Ron! – both do not know we are second cousins living in San Jose, CA. Prevented his dying father from talking to his only sister in America via the last phone call. Later the boy scolded Maw for not tying the door, which opens at the top of the cage. Maw said the boy sounded like a father, who kept reminding someone who denies letting Bugsy free. In a sense the bird is free from prison. But like any freedom there is the potential for a quick death or a new home and life. For you see if birds don’t eat in 24 hours, they die due to their high metabolism.
