Tonight, I’ve done a bad thing. Instead of keeping my personal computer on “stand by” mode, I actually “restarted” and “shut down” my computer! And when I tried to log back into the piece of junk, all I got was a blank screen of death! The sounds of the two cooling fans work but now the mouse doesn’t respond. It’s dead, too!
Now I sympathize with smokers who go “cold turkey” and failed to quit smoking forever. The temptation to log online is also not as healthy as smoking to death. The feeling is of suffocation as if the air of life comes to a halt!
To make matters worse, I’m connected to the internet using a processor that runs on 797 MHz, 128 MB of RAM! Do you know how slow that is when trying to load up pages with lots of graphics, flashes, and other plug-ins that doesn’t feel like the fast hit from drinking Java coffee?
No! You don’t know how it feels to be poor and without the best of all things possible this world could offer! What used to be a fast internet connection is not but a connection at mere dial-up speed!
Alas, I sense my blogging days are over. It must be bad karma for logging online and making a sick person sicker. Do you know who is really sick? I’m sick of sitting here just trying to figure out the next course of action!
As a matter of fact, I noticed that when I tried right-clicking links from a general Google.com search, the “new tab” would open up to a mysterious generic search link as if my selection didn’t exist. This newest incident has occurred today.
Now I’m trying to add “death” as a tag and the field is still overshadowed by the word. The “Add” button doesn’t work and maybe because it doesn’t not work on my outdated internet browser.
Whatever is happening, I hope the answer is for me to get a life away from the computer, get a new computer, or at least a new cellphone with internet browsing features. My cellphone is over tn years old, by the way and doesn’t have internet access!
Addendum-Last edited by FLYNN on 20110214 at 08:14:40 AM UTC: And since my laptop computer doesn’t have a mouse, I had to borrow the dead mouse from the defunct computer, which had the faster internet connection!
Also, I had to change WordPress.com theme to Sandbox in the hopes of increasing the speed at which web pages load faster and had to remove my “Welcome” page and some side widgets, because those contain images and those attachments slow down the viewing of what is supposed be my precious words!
To the Matt meister, team Automattic and pals: Please create a feature that allows the best possible way for readers and admins alike to load up their contents faster. Pronto!
