En route to church this morning, I eyed a black lady. She was garbed in black clothing and a red-colored head covering. Her stuff of fluorescent colored items were atop a brown-colored canvas, which used to be the home of a homeless man, who is nowhere to be seen.
Her countenance was one of peace. She was standing with her eyes closed as if praying and facing a general southern direction. The skies were filled with the usual morning fog of gray clouds. I thought about her as I crossed over Capitol Ave. and during mass. I wondered if she would be okay and imagined picking her up to drive her to her designation. But I forgot.
