“I’ll be there for my brother.” said Uncle Ver to Paw long ago.
And I see this is true. Uncle Gigalo has made gazebos with his own hands for each of his three sisters — Malformed, Death and Louse.
When he inquired of me what had happened to the two sisters’ gazebos, my blunt response to him was: “The gazebos are used to store their junk.”
I saw how he slouched ever so slightly forward in dismay as he continued to stare forward and straight.

“That’s easy to do. I can do fix it anytime.” Cousin Ferdie told to us long ago.
Water had leaked on the bathroom floor upstairs. The bathroom floor needed to be replaced. And to this day, he never kept his word.

“Tell sister not to buy a new computer because I have one for her here. I’ll bring it over this weekend — this Sunday.” said the boy to Maw who called his around 6:00pm Friday night before we went to Costco to buy a replacement to my dead computer.
He has been talking about giving me a new computer for a few months. But he never did have the time to fix the one here in the hopes of retrieving old data.
“I’m sick again. I cannot go to church this evening. Tell sister to buy a computer because you two are FORCING me to hurry up.” The boy told to Maw this evening.
That is why I cannot call him. He is incoherent over the phone and doesn’t focus or listen to the issues. Instead, he cuts off the caller and treats his own family members as if we are co-workers who are rushing him to finish up what he promised to deliver.

“I can make a wooden hat holder for you Maw. I can make a bird tree for our parakeets so they could play.” said the boy.
He never did.

“I promise you’ll get your money back.” said the fat bastard to me many times over the last decade.

You see, unlike the alcholic, divorced and angry smoker, who is my Uncle Ver, the other failed to follow through and keep their words. The actions of Uncle Ver to be there for others without a second thought OUTWEIGH his misdeeds toward my Auntie Ching, the Shillster and his relatives.
Being two faced is not good. But being a better heart despite ruining the lives of others can be easily forgiven. That is my decision.
