Anyways, I never really noticed that the Blog Home template is acting-up! I tried to “force” the Blog Home template to display the three most recent posts with excerpts displaying 25 words.
HOWEVER, the Blog Home template is displaying currently. Only the MOST recent post in Full Content! This is odd behavior!
Yesterday, I encountered another odd behavior when I was trying to “force” my customize templates for Portfolio and Testimonial pages. But the pages displayed the regular “Post” type and NOT the other two Custom Content Types: Project and Testimonial.
As a result, I had to disable both Custom Content Types: Portfolio Projects and Testimonials!
Today, I had NO choice but accept the display of the Blog Home template, which I set as the static “Posts page”. The static “Homepage” is the FRONT-COVER page.
Yesterday, I used the Blog posts pattern number seven, which is my favorite, because it displays two columns: one column for the Content that displays “excerpts” and the other column for the summary describing the purpose of the peculiarities of that template.
I’m still learning how to use the “Content” block specifically for the templates and pre-filling my main Pages with the main Content. This is because the templates are theme-dependent and any templates saved under a theme is for that theme along. The only way to “recreate” the missing templates for a different theme is to create and save “Patterns” for later use.
However, I couldn’t use the “Content” block for the customized templates, such as All Archives, Page 404 and Search Results. I had to customized current theme’s three “default” templates: Index, Pages and Single Post. For some reasons, the displays are as expected when using my customized templates.
I’m still baffled. But I guess it is what it is, meaning, at least those readers who wish to read the Full Content of at least ONE display of the most recent post could do so by simply clicking the “Home” page or the “READ MORE” after each excerpts found on the “FRONT-COVER” page.
