Well, today was weird. It was cloudy, breezy and cold, just the way I like it. A few drizzle of raindrops fell upon my car near the Story Rd bridges. Then it stopped. My windshield wipers need replacement because it makes rubbing and jumping noises! Yesterday, I ranted that the clouds didn’t produce rain!
Today’s this job from hell went well. I barely answered a few phones, which I refused to answer yesterday, sent out ALL paid paper invoices through yesterday’s date to our friends at the VA (thanks to the daily “recon” by the temp woman with gray hair), charged yesterday’s credit card emails, answered a few emails, deposited only eleven checks late in the afternoon, and released all cash receipt batches, including EFTs!
Next, Monday is Memorial day. There’s no work. That means I don’t get paid on holidays. The boss didn’t stay today. The payroll clerk was nowhere. The AP guy was still working and so were the two senior workers.
Before I left, I texted the COO and shared with her my two nicknames, one from the relatives and one among “friends” whoever they are. She liked my real first name and I told her that it’s better in the office.
So yeah, I’ll miss her. I just want my money returned and my freedom restored. I guess the trade-off is not killing them but having bad karmic debt pass on to their children. Sorry, but that’s the Truth.
The approval process is still intact, except the initials on the bank deposits and the cash receipt printouts for each back deposits, because none seems to care and for the fact we shred those live checks over sixty days.
I stayed at work thirty minutes later yesterday and made up for those unpaid overtime by taking it easy today with extra break times. I’m not interested in staying until 1600, as communicated to the temp girl, instead of moi. Maybe, she can stay.
If I come in early, I’m leaving early. I’m ready to leave now, if not the end of this month, then hopefully next month. The place is still making me upset. First, I’m not Hispanic and I’m not Asian. And I’m not interested in working with people, period!
