Work was busy yesterday and today. There was no incoming mail on Monday, which was mostly processing returns via CC refunds. The check refunds were few but pushed back because my priority is cash receipts!
Yesterday, I came in early around 0700 to open approximately 300 incoming mail. That’s the usual workload for Tuesday. I had those done in thirty minutes before the old temp woman came around 0730.
Today, the pushback of applying EFT payments for 5/1, 5/4 to 5/6 was released today. I had to make the administrative decision for one unidentified credit.
One cash receipt batch was scanned and deposited YESTERDAY prior to applying TODAY. That’s good for cash flow.
However, it’s helpful to identify, pullout, and return overpaid check items. This reduces time in credit research analysis and/or refunding later on.
For some reason, I’ve been getting the dump to research unidentified funds received and not applied. Those will be pushed back, including credits and unanswered emails and unreturned voicemails.
For some reason, I’ve been getting weird phone calls because the customer wanted to speak to accounting. Huh.
Speaking of phone calls, I received a phone call from another head hunter around 1400. She emailed me and I replied to her email that I will email her my resume after work today, that I’m working at this temp job from hell, and that I got an interview for direct placement tomorrow.
Speaking of which I replied to yesterday’s email from that VP today via my smartphone at 1255, upon which the VP replied via his iPhone at 1333, which is his calling card as a fellow Mason. Thanks!
Today, the pregger came back to work. Someone decorated her desk with black cobwebs. It had a big spider on it. Huh.
I got up to greet her but she ignored, even “that guy”. I sent the temp woman an IM to that effect.
I said I’d wear my sunglass to hide since I was already invisible. I told her that I tend to scare people by “sneaking up/standing behind” them.
Maybe, I’m a ghost and don’t even know it! Maybe, the ones “alive” are waiting for me to wake up!
Anyway, Monday morning my eye candy asked about my timecard in a soft spoken, low toned voice. I barely heard him, got up, bent over at his face level, smelled his cold, looked directly at his eyes, and replied yes several times.
He’s been soft spoken lately, like yesterday when his spreadsheet locked up. He seemed relaxed. But last Friday before he left, I saw his saddened visage. I wondered what happened.
I told my head hunter about him being quiet. He wondered if it was his performance. I told him that I liked him. Listen, chumps! I like him! He’s got spunk!
The pregger and the other gals didn’t like him and the smoker didn’t invite him for donuts this morning. I got her IM for donuts.
I ate one coconut donut, just like the smoker who said coconut donuts are divine. I love coconut, period.
This morning I had four cups of coffee – two cups of dark roasted Starbucks Anniversary Blend coffee, one cup after being ignored by the pregger and storming off pissed from my workstation, and one cup to wash down the coconut donut.
After lunch, I crashed! At 1633, I clocked out. I was still processing shit, especially credit card from two days ago! I was humming my choir music. My eye candy and his woman boss were still working. I lifted my eyebrows Filipino style to the accounts payable guy.
I didn’t cry en route to home because the constant up and down exercise from my chair to the printer and the spiked up boost from four cups of coffee helped me get through the day.
I crashed to sleep at home and awoke eight at night after eating a bowl of sticky yucky leftover noodles from lunch by my parents.
The end
