Behold! Science Officer Flynn, the Nerdish Blogger and Observing Note Taker, has new eyeglasses! It’s wider at 64/17. The color is gun metal. It’s really meant to be sunglass by Ray-Ban.
That’s right! My face is flatter than Greys and my skull is wider than coconuts. It’s light enough to keep from sliding off my flat nose.
At least I could see a wider range of the sides, though the distortion occurs at the perimeter. In that way, I could keep my eyeballs focused on the computer monitor and at the same time, use more of my peripheral vision and observe who dare approaches my workstation.
The opticians know how to adjust the nosepads to accommodate my low-bridged nose and flattened-face. In other words, I’m able to grin weirdly and still have clearance between my eyeballs/eyelashes, which used to scrap ill-fitted eye frames in the past.
Upon putting on my new eyeglass, the feeling was relief! Unlike the vice-grip tension of my previous frame, this one fits like buttery leathery gloves.
Currently, it’s slipping a little bit.
