Today’s work went normal. Philip and I arrived early at 0730, while the others came in on the hour.
“Monday, Monday” he sang. I mumbled under my breath that I listen to classic rock and classic country and said aloud, I’m gonna get some hot tea.
I tried to work on an account that’s due next Monday until 1000, when Rosemary brought to attention that customers are calling for their refunds. I told her I got tired of doing Philip’s project already.
So for the rest of the day, I processed mostly credit card refunds. I managed to get around 80 of approximately 90 refunds from February completed. There are a few stragglers from January and I’ll push for completing March refunds for returns consumer goods tomorrow.
But Laurie didn’t have anything to do because the incoming mail is being held hostage by the mailroom. She wouldn’t stop bothering me and sent an Instant Messenger about maybe the postman got mugged or something. I mumbled loudly to knock it off! I plan on sneaking to work early around 0700 to get a head start, like I’ve done in the past. Bitch.
At around 0900, my headhunter, Jonathan C called. I told him about the possibility of being converted full-time by this temp job from hell, which I expressed to him was stressful and that they had things for me to do. I told him I don’t mind working contacted long-term. Jonathan was thinking Laurie would also be hired full-time. Fuck. Whatever. Bitch.
I intended to disclose my nationality by offhandly saying they served donuts here but Lumpia and Pancit are better snacks. And I asked if he eats Chicken Adobo and maybe my Mom could cook something fit him. He said, yeah.
Y’all see, fools, err, folks, I love eating butter. I can, if necessary, butter up people. I have already greased many palms to my favor. I have no fear, except itself – the Singularity.
He shared with me his biracial Dad as Chinese and Mom as Guatemala. Damn! He must be handsome. I buttered him up on the premise that I missed meeting him in person on my first day at temp job here.
So he may schedule something with a Madam Cherie, the COO princess, and have lunch and meet me. I buttered him up more to let me know ahead of time, so I could pretty up myself. I followed up that I was just being funny.
Seriously, folks. I don’t freaking care. My house is already paid off. I just need some bling money to spend on myself on food, clothing, and to maintain the monthly bills and my health and other freak emergency situations.
Again, I don’t freaking care what happens here, now, or ever! I give up! For the next six hours of work, I sang/hummed popular tunes and I kept letting out a heaving sigh. I’m weary and have worn out my stay here. I miss staying at home, sans annoying old parents!
But I love walking outdoors during my breaks. There were lots of fluffy, puffy clouds of white. I kept giving my thanks and said I love y’all and wondered if I could one day ride the clouds…
