In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “We Can Be Taught!.”
A teacher can be forcefully harsh, like Philip toid at work, and straightforwardly brutal, like Mutha Fucka at home. Both are highly intelligent and are impatient with those who can’t keep up with their sharpness.
But a great teacher steps back and allows the student enough room and time to learn and when necessary, offers constant reminders for the student to stay on track. These are subtleties, the inner voices, guidance, and other messages that come forth as little inspirations.
Usually the obstacles, challenges, and shortcomings are symbolic signals to the student that such chosen paths are NOT conducive to the growth and development and are meant as such to be avoided.
A teacher teaches by example. I’m surprised at myself, too, that I don’t always learn from others students as a reciprocation of their efforts to learn. The hardest lesson is through experience, period. But each lesson was never meant to harm or endanger, just enough to wake the student to realities that all is not unfortunate.
