Well, I was feeling weary from disturbed sleeping patterns. And now I’m lying down not feeling sleepy! I think my system has definitely been upgraded because I don’t feel the need to rest! I don’t know what happened or what is happening.
I know that I’m not Chinese and that Philip (my imaginary eye candy) doesn’t need to bow slightly forward with his two palms in front of his chest in thanks unto moi after commenting him positively in his idea of color coding shared emails and his quickness to eye the small reference field “OP CM (six-digit number here)”.
But I don’t know how to hint or play with him on the details just yet. I should do the following formula: if a person looks Asian but has a Spanish name, she’s confused! Or the country of origin for my parents starts partly with your first name, as in Philip-pines! Duh.
The freckles on my now deleted LinkedIn profile image shows that I’m NOT that prominently Malay or Muslim. My skin is light. And that I’m positively not showing traits of my dark-skinned Filipino counterparts.
I could also share with him my personal profile and that I’m not a thug! The only thing that should freak him out is that I decide to go away and never come back! I know the other gals can pick-up where I left. Yup.
Two Fridays ago, he didn’t want me to freak him out if I didn’t show up the following Monday. “Yeah, I’ll show up as long as there’s no fire and brimstones.” And I motioned rubbing the falling rain downwards with my right fingers.
Three Monday’s ago, a black lady with an obvious thick black accent called to pay her invoices with a credit card. While trying to process her request, I could hear her and another person giggling in the background. The call was from Chicago, Illinois. Thanks a lot Barack! Haha!
Oh and I’ve not read a customer’s letter addressed to me. I’m hoping that Mike will read it. Deborah the receptionist passed it on to me last week but it was stapled shut. That’s why I don’t like doing customer service work because my name goes “out there” via email.
He doesn’t know his last day is today. He’s a reptilian due to his constant tongue clicking during this Monday’s morning greeting. I found Mike’s personality great. But Philip was bringing in someone with more hands-on in AR.
I hope he’s a cute guy my age group. Yummy. I offhandly told Philip in our first informal meeting that if y’all want to ramp up the customer service y’all need a male voice because tougher personalities can get away more with a female voice than with a male voice. Philip mumbled under his breath that he would have been in big trouble had he said that aloud. My intention was logistics. The hopefully be cute guy could help support Ty in collections, duh! If it’s a gal, I’m leaving! My smart, not bad!
I’m becoming touchy feeling, more empathic to the guys. Ty wouldn’t stop smiling widely. Yesterday and today I felt his hands were chilled and he wouldn’t let me left hand go, respectively. So I patted his right forearm in assurance that everything is okay.
Of course, Philip was being receptive and I “sensed” last week that he was being “protective” of me from the likes of Mike, too. So that’s why today he was hovering over Ty to observe. Just because he’s temporary doesn’t mean he’s empowered to recommend restructuring.
Yesterday and today, I was testing Philip’s resolve also by patting his right forearm in assurance, saying sorry that it was an over sight. He didn’t know that the deposit batch of wires and ACH was Mike’s work. I pointed out to my handwritten initial of MD. Again he’s cautious. But he’s still a human no doubt!
Mom said I was being hypercritical. She said to leave work behind when I came home. I just saying that on order to be a good customer service rep, treat the “other side” as of they are disabled! It works. Plus, I’m connecting with people. Isn’t that what life is ALL about?
