In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Bone of Contention.”
My freaking smartphone entered the word “ruin” in the post title instead of the word “rings”, a imagery of marriage, of materialism, of possession, but most especially “freedom”.
Marriage allows grown kids to be free from their parents. As convenient as shopping for food one must work hard to keep the illusion of freedom going.
Eventually, all things, including vows and other commitments, just end, through divorce, death, or simple resignation knowing that freedom can’t be possible even in marriage.
I could elaborate but this is the Truth. No one is free, period. And y’all don’t need a freaking expensive ring to prove love.
Perhaps, buy a bell, ring it, and observe if God will hear your whines, complaints, and confessions, and will answer your prayers for freedom from your pains and sufferings.
Not entirely? Bingo!
