Good morning, y’all! Happy Thursday! It feels like a cool morning and then another sweltering hot weather for the rest of the day. I feel grimy but washed with a cloth. That’s how lazy I am to shower. My late/paternal grandmother was like that. So if your children don’t take up after you, they are most likely a reflection of the previous generation – their grandparents. Do NOT doubt me!
Anyway, I don’t know what other surprises this temp job from hell will share/give me. As long as I don’t get high-blood pressure, I’ll do fine. I like light AR collection as long as the contact is the Accounts Payable department. At least, I know that company/customer is “well-funded” enough to at least “return”/pay their outstanding invoices. I’ve never done “real” collections, like sending out late notices. That’s for “legal” and I don’t like going that far.
As for payroll, the new system is supposed to be up/running with/in four weeks of my stay, which is supposed to be a one-month temporary assignment. There’s really nothing else to do that lower-level functioning, more desperate job-seekers with children/family/mortgage could do – like a younger person. But really, I don’t mind. I’m just slower with age!
As for processing “bid proposals”, I don’t always know how to answer these project managers. That area is new to me and I’d hate to be the dump/dummy for something that I don’t want to mess up; since this is where most of the income allows for the survival for companies in the construction business. That’s my karma – the opposite of my favorite area – which as mentioned in my recent blog entries is really the destruction business, the clean-up crew of archiving, cataloging, shredding, filing, re/organizing/sorting, whatever.
It’s late. I have to leave. It’s more fun to work for meager wages than nothing at all and stay at home watching television, my favorite mainstream media news outlets, and attending morning masses and being forced/criticized to participate in sharing the Cup o’ Wine and possible contracting herpes, hepatitis, whatever. Yuch.
